I have not been able to get them to turn pink or blue. Anyone know how to do that? Mine just start off white, and then turn into a beautiful green.
As the fall comes along they start to turn brown, and dry up and stay that way all winter long. Winter interest display.....lol
Right now, they are a beautiful green, and I thought I would dry them so that I can enjoy them indoors.
I picked them, and just put them in a vase, and leave them there to do their thing.
Take a look at how beautiful they look.
When Christmas comes, you can incorporate them into a Christmas arrangement. Add some ornaments into the arrangement, make them into a wreath. The choices are endless. Such versatility.

ReplyDeleteone of the things i miss most about where we used to live is our hydrangeas. your dried ones are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karah. I love hydrangeas too. In the summer, I added them to my centerpieces in one of my posts. (I even have fakes around the house....lol)
ReplyDeleteLucky for you, I worked for a nursery for awhile...the plant kind, not the baby kind. What you have is called a limelight hydrangea, and they are my FAVORITE! I used hydrangeas and white roses in my wedding...it was awesome.
ReplyDeletethe pink hydrangeas are a new hybrid that was developed in the last couple of years...you would have to have that type of hydrangea to get a different bloom. I wouldn't trade out what you've got, though...your blooms are gorgeous!
Thanks for commenting, and the lesson on hydrangea. I really love my hydrangea bush. It gets bigger every year. This flower really has lasting power.

Hi Angie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog & following! I absolutely love your hydrangea! We just had a retaining wall installed this past summer and we need to add some landscaping around it and hydrangeas are what we are leaning towards. Have a great day!

Oh my goodness... these are gorgeous! I didn't realize they dried so beautifully. I need to get some planted in my garden next year!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer. Hydrangeas are really great flowers. Once you plant them, you can forget about them. They dry really nice. I picked them near the end of the season. If you pick them when they are white, they stay that way. Amazing flower.
